In honour of Emeritus Professor Kerry Anne Landman  FAA, ANZIAM has instituted an award to recognise outstanding contributions of our members to the field of industrial mathematics.  ANZIAM recognises industrial mathematics as a diverse discipline, with the fundamental definition being the use of mathematical and computational techniques to solve complex problems for industry (including government and non-profit sectors). At most one award will be made annually, but only to a candidate of sufficient merit. No person can receive more than one such award.

Selection criteria for the award are:

1. The researcher must have carried out distinguished research, relative to opportunity, in industrial mathematics, where a significant proportion of the research has been carried out in Australia or New Zealand;
2. The researcher must have been a member of ANZIAM for at least the three calendar years preceding the year in which the award is made.  Active membership must be demonstrated within that three year-period.

 Call for nominations for the 2027 KA Landman Medal

Nominations for the medal can be made by any member of ANZIAM other than the nominee or members of the Selection committee. A nomination document should consist of three parts in the following order:

1. a statement detailing the impact that any career interruptions have had on the candidate’s opportunity to carry out research;
2. a brief CV of the nominee summarising their contributions, including the nominee's list of publications and reports;
3. a resumé explaining the industrial impact and context of the nominee's work.

Each of parts (i) and (iii) should be no more than one-page in length.
